Hyundai Donates $50,000 to Banner Health Foundation to Create Play Zone for Pediatric Patients

Hyundai Motor America has contributed $50,000 to the Banner Health Foundation to support the creation of a dedicated play area for pediatric patients and their families at Diamond Children's Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. The Play Zone is part of Hyundai's corporate social responsibility initiative, Hyundai Hope, which aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for children and their families. The ceremonial check was presented to the Banner Health Foundation in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Brandon Ramirez, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Hyundai Motor America, said that the Play Zone would offer families a safe and supportive space that is at the heart of Hyundai Hope's mission. He added that they are proud to partner with the Banner Health Foundation to uplift children and families in the community.

Banner Health is a non-profit health system that operates in six states, including 30 hospitals and three academic medical centers. Banner Children's at Diamond Children's Medical Center is focused on providing advanced care from pediatric specialty physicians and researchers in a safe and supportive environment. The Play Zone at Diamond Children's Medical Center will be a non-medical, supportive environment for kids, allowing them to ask questions, build coping mechanisms, reduce anxiety, and prepare for treatments in a bright, positive environment. The Play Zone will also offer recreation and therapeutic play, which can ultimately improve children's emotional outlook and uplift their mood.

Hadley Trull, Associate Director of Child Life at Diamond Children's, described the Play Zone as a magical space that can provide a relaxed environment for honest conversations and creative outlets, unlike anything that can be offered in a hospital room. Hyundai's contribution will help build the Play Zone and continue to uplift children and families in the community.
