So here’s the news. The Indian Police Force has just seized 12 luxury and supercars at a car meet. The owners had supposedly committed tax evasion on the vehicles. How they did it was simple: they had the cars registered in other regions of the country where the taxes were lower, despite the fact that they stayed in a higher-tax region.
The cars seized included multiple Lamborghini Huracans, a Maserati GranTurismo, a Ferrari and a Rolls-Royce. Despite the vehicles being seized, it is likely the owners will get them back after paying significant fines. The authorities supposedly had been watching the cars for quite a while and were mostly owned by “families of politicians and industrialists.” Officials made their move on Sunday after getting a tip.
