Real Generosity or Advertising Campaign?

Subaru has always marketed themselves as the “compassionate car company” with advertisements like “Subaru Loves To Help.”

Now, Subaru has pledged to donate 50,000 socks and a total of 100,000 blankets (when combined with last year’s donations) to the homeless. To execute this, over 600 Subaru dealerships have partnered with shelters to distribute the supplies to those suffering with homelessness this winter.

Subaru’s President and CEO of Subaru of America said, "For those without a roof over their heads, we hope these blankets and socks provide some much-needed comfort and a reminder that someone in their community, including Subaru and our family of retailers, is thinking of them."

The company says these donations are part of their Subaru Loves to Help initiative, where they donate to various charities Feeding America and the American Red Cross.
