There have been massive advances in the driverless car industry over the past few years. The result of all those years of work is finally here: the Hyundai Ioniq 5 robotaxi. It was recently spotted in Las Vegas picking up passengers while testing the self-driving system.
On the outside, the robotaxi is anything but inconspicuous. The camo paint hides the features of the Hyundai, but doesn’t do much to draw attention away from itself. There are numerous cameras and sensors covering the car, over 30 to be precise. Hyundai hopes to have the car out and about by 2023, even partnering with rideshare company Lyft to get passengers in the cars.
